About Our Founder

Lynn Munford | founder and principal consultant

Lynn began her career with the Maryland State Highway Administration as a public information assistant before moving to Texas in 2002.  In Texas, she began her career in community outreach and public affairs. Lynn worked in public affairs for several Houston area suburbs where she implemented volunteer programs and social media programs allowing communities access to a broader audience and use of underutilized resources. She has also served as a public information officer for a police department in a Houston Area suburb.

In these roles she interacted with the media daily by providing a voice for senior level staff and governmental entities. During this time she became FEMA certified in crisis communication and put her skills to use during Hurricane Ike.

Munford Consulting and Munford was started after she lead a statewide voter outreach and GOTV campaign for the NAACP and working closely with a local elected official in 2012. This experience created a desire to connect communities to influencers who represent the community’s interest and greater access to resources.  Since MCM’s creation Lynn has worked on several political campaigns and assisted several candidates to win a seat representing Houston and Harris County.

Lynn earned a B.S. in communication for Morgan State University. She has also earned a Master of Arts in communication and Master of Public Administration from Texas Southern University.

Lynn resides in Houston, Texas with her ridiculously spoiled rescue dog Chauncie. She is a proud and dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
